Two Die in Separate Weekend Stabbings

Monday 15th August, 2011. 


Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of two persons, who were both allegedly stabbed in separate incidents during the wee hours of Saturday the 13th of August, 2011.

The first incident occurred at Fond-Assau, Babonneau, quarter of Castries, about 1:00am, involving 29-year-old, Cornel John Carbon, a.k.a “DA” a Dominican national who resided at Fond Assau, who was reportedly at a bar having a drink along with another man. According to reports, they left the bar and proceeded to an area within close proximity of a nearby house, where an altercation occurred, which resulted in the stabbing of Cornel Carbon. He was taken via ambulance to the Victoria Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The suspect is currently nursing injuries at the aforesaid hospital, following an alleged attack by persons of the area.

The second incident occurred about 3:30am on that Saturday, the 13th of August, 2011, in the vicinity of George the Fifth Park, Castries and it involves 44-year-old, Joanne Cox a.k.a “Boogie” of La Clery, Castries, who was allegedly stabbed during an altercation. She was later pronounced dead at the Victoria Hospital. A young man is currently in custody in connection with the incident.
