Four Men Charged for Credit Union Robbery
Quick action and thorough investigation by police in relation to the Mon Repos Credit Union robbery have resulted in the capture of four young men who were all charged for robbery and firearm-related offences.
They are: 21-year-old, Samuel Edmund a.ka”Sammy” of Pierrot, Vieux-Fort who was charged for robbery and possession of firearm, 31-year-old, Nellean Jeffery a.ka. “Black Pearl” or “Jimmy” of Pierrot, charged for possession of firearm, possession of firearm with intent to injure and robbery, 21-year-old, Tyson Joseph a.k.a “Sindoo” of Pierrot, charged for robbery and possession of firearm and 20-year-old, Frankie Tertullien of Bruceville, Vieux-Fort, charged for robbery and possession of firearm and ammunition. They all appeared in court on Monday the 22nd of August, 2011, where they were remanded at the Bordelais Correctional Facility until the 14th of October, 2011, when they reappear in court for sufficiency hearing.
During the course of the investigation, Micoud police were able to recover the sum of $9170.00EC, and also the firearms involved, which include: a 12-gauge shotgun, a 9mm firearm and a .380 firearm along with 10rounds of .380 ammunition. The incident occurred about 2:30pm, on Monday the 15th of August, 2011, where three armed masked men and a man believed to be the driver, entered the premises of the aforesaid Credit Union and allegedly stole a sum of $15,9000EC. The security guard was shot in the process but he is in a stable condition at St.Jude Hospital.
