Youth Caught with Firearm at Vieux-Fort
The officers attached to the Vieux-Fort branch of the Special Services Unit (S.S.U), were on patrol at Sandy Beach, Vieux-Fort, about 11:00pm, on Tuesday the 6th of September, 2011, when they arrested 25-year-old, Mathew Hippolyte of Grand-Rivire, Dennery, who was in possession of a .380 firearm along with one round of ammunition.
Hippolyte was thereafter charged for possession of firearm and ammunition and he is due to appear in court on Thursday the 8th of September, 2011.
Meanwhile, the Vieux-Fort S.S.U. officers were on patrol about 1:00am, on Saturday the 27th of August, 2011, near the Beausejour Highway, when they intercepted a scooter, registration number: PG1267 with three men onboard. They were all searched and a 9mm firearm along with five rounds of live ammunition and two training rounds were found. They were arrested and subsequently charged for possession of firearm and ammunition. The men are: 18-year-old,Nervais Hippolyte of Hospital Road, Vieux-Fort, Shane Doxerie also 18 years old of Aux-Picon, Vieux-Fort and 20-year-old, Kalis Louisy of Bridge Street, Vieux-Fort.
The trio appeared in court on the 30th of August, 2011 but the case was adjourned to the 20th of September, 2011.
