Choiseul Youth Charged by Police for Several Cases of Burglary
Choiseul police in collaboration with Soufriere police have recently concluded a thorough investigation into a spate of burglaries which occurred during the period, 20th of August, 2011 to the 8th of September, 2011, within the community of Choiseul, where several houses were burglarized. A quantity of electronic items and jewellery were predominantly the items stolen.
On Monday the 12th of September, 2011, at Reunion, Choiseul, police executed a Search Warrant on the premises of 19-year-old, Steven Vernor of Reunion, where both he and his 17-year-old brother, Mark Modeste were arrested.
However, the outcome of the investigation lead to thirteen (13) charges of burglary being preferred against Mark Modeste who pleaded guilty to all the charges when he appeared in court on Friday the 16th of September, 2011. He was remanded at the Bordelais Correctional Facility, pending a pre-sentencing report which was ordered by the court. The case was adjourned to the 12th of October, 2011. Steven Vernor was released pending further investigation.
