Police conducts operation exercises
On Thursday 1 November 2012, Officers of the Task Force, Special Services Unit, Drug Unit and Traffic Unit conducted extensive operation exercises within the northern part of the island.
During the operation two male individuals were arrested at Bexon. About 1:30 am on Friday 2 November 2012, thirty five (35) year old Tennyson Lionel of Morne Du Don was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Drug and Possession with the Intent to Supply a Controlled Drug.
He was taken before the court later that day. He pleaded guilty on both charges. He was fined $750.00 to be paid by November 15, 2012 on the charge of Possession of Controlled Drug and $750.00 to be paid by February 15, 2013 on the charge of Possession with the Intent to Supply a Controlled Drug.
About 1: 45 pm, a search was conducted on the person of 18 year old Toyan Charles, of Desruisseaux, Micoud. During that search, a 9mm Pistol was recovered along with 4 rounds of ammunition. He was subsequently arrested and charged for Possession of an Illegal firearm and Possession of Ammunition.
He made a court appearance later that same day. He was bailed in the sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5000.00) cash or suitable surety on each charge.
He was also bailed on the following conditions:
- Surrender all travelling documents
- Not to reapply for travelling documents without the court’s permission
- Report to the Micoud Police Station every Thursday
Remain indoors between the hours of 7 pm and 6 am.
