One man shot after allegedly stabbing another
On Friday 2 November 2012 about 11:30 pm, Officers attached to the Gros Islet Police Station responded to an incident which occurred on Bay Street, Gros Islet.
Officers received information where Clayton Sylvester was involved in an altercation with Miguel Edward of La Clery, Castries. During the altercation Clayton Sylvester sustained a stab wound.
At the time of the incident, Officers attached to the Task Force were on mobile patrol in the vicinity when they intervened. As a result of the altercation Miguel Edward was shot by the police.
Both individuals were taken to Victoria Hospital where they were treated and discharged.
Miguel Edward was later charged for the offence of Grievous Bodily Harm and appeared before the court on Monday 5, November 2012.
He was bailed in the sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5000.00) cash or suitable surety.
The matter has been adjourned for November 14, 2012.
